What is Bolt Byte?

BoltByte is a durable, reusable, patented (2006) memory tool used to keep track of hardware. It is useful on the assembly line, the maintenance line, and everywhere in between.

What will Bolt Byte do for my company?

Bolt Byte will help keep track of hardware, thus preventing F.O.D, due to lost or missing hardware. It will eliminate the need for plastic bags, trays, and cardboard. Why pay employees to punch holes in cardboard when they could be working on aircraft?

What is F.O.D?

F.O.D is Foreign Object Damage and is responsible for between two and four billion dollars in damage and lost time each year. Lost tools, dropped hardware, and even bird strikes cause it. No system will prevent all F.O.D damage, but when the Bolt Byte system is used properly, it will prevent damage caused by lost hardware.

What is the cost?

The cost will vary. Some factors that apply are: number of holes needed in the board; amount/detail of graphics for the board; is the pattern for the artwork/graphics able to be emailed/mailed; and size of the order. It can be as simple or as detailed as you would like.

How long do they last?

As with all things, it depends on usage. Bolt Byte Tools are designed to be reused hundreds of times, have a one-year warranty, and are recyclable. It should also be noted that there are products in shops that have lasted over five years of daily usage.

Can you paint hardware in the boards?

Bolt Byte is an excellent tool to assist in painting. Place the bolts into the board, paint, and they are held securely until dry. You can hang the boards after painting, and the bolts won’t fall out or tip over and stick together. You can even bake the hardware right in the board, as long as you don’t go over 180 degrees Fahrenheit. Try doing that with cardboard.

Do you have a NSN?

Yes we do. Our current NSN’s are for our CH-47 Fly Away Kits and the Blackhawk PMI2 Kit. We are in the process of getting NSN numbers for our other products.

How do I order?

If you would like to order, call Paul Donaldson  724-713-7706 or Ken Questiaux 724-355-3460, or email us at boltbyte@gmail.com. Just let us know what you are interested in and we will get back to you.

Is Bolt Byte American made?

Yes, it is. We are proud to say Bolt Byte is made in Butler, Pennsylvania.

What do I do with all the extra plastic bags and cardboard?

That is truly up to you. Cardboard can be recycled, and the “baggies” can be used to pack sandwiches for your lunch.
